WVU @ Villanova: March 6th
From Chapter President Paul Leakan:
I am thrilled to report that the WVU Alumni Association has purchased a limited number of tickets to the WVU vs.Villanova basketball game on March 6 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
Members of the Liberty Bell Chapter can purchase tickets to the game, along with members of our sister Chapters in Delaware, Central PA, Central New Jersey, Baltimore and elsewhere. There will be hundreds (and hopefully thousands) of WVU fans at this matchup between teams ranked No. 6 and No. 8 respectively.
As you may know, this is a VERY rare game at the Wachovia Center. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and I imagine that ticket demand will likely exceed supply.
The tickets are $35 each for Liberty Bell Chapter members (i.e., those whose membership is currently in good standing).
They are $45 each for non-members or those whose membership has expired. In other words, buying a ticket will also enable you to renew your membership, which raises funds to support our Chapter's activities and scholarship funds.
There will be an informal gathering of WVU alumni and fans prior to the game, which tips off at Noon. Fans are encouraged to head over to McFaddens at the Ballpark (Phillies stadium) to meet up with other WVU alumni. There are no formal arrangements. Fans will likely head over to McFaddens after the game for post-game fellowship.
We will attempt to raffle WVU gear either before or after the game. I will provide updates as we get closer to March 6.
If you want tickets to the game, I need a confirmation ASAP. Let me know exactly how many tickets you are purchasing and whether or not your membership is current. If it has expired and you would like to buy tickets, please complete the enclosed membership form.
I can only reserve tickets upon receiving a check. I will send the appropriate mailing address and other information to those who send me an e-mail confirming that they will buy tickets.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Happy Holidays!
Thanks,
Paul Leakan
